Zambia Travel Tips

Zambia is a gift from nature to all the people who are in awe of it! With as many as 17 huge waterfalls, huge lakes, wetlands alive with marine life and breathtaking sunsets, nature has hardly anything to add to this country’s splendorous holiday packages. With pulsating wilderness all around, Zambia is the place you want to be in whether it is for game viewing, safari walking or for tiger fishing, river rafting and canoeing.

Attractions:

  1. National Parks: The Government of Zambia has been intelligent enough to tap the wildlife resources of the country and make it flourish in to a tourism industry. Though the number of reserves and parks are plenty, tourists mainly flock in eight of these. These national parks can be visited to by private cars.   2. Zambezi River: The Zambezi runs through six African countries before letting itself in to the Indian Ocean. In fact, Zambezi has given birth to the famous Victoria Falls. The riverside is frequented by a myriad of wild animals and is the perfect spot for game viewing. The Lower Zambezi National Park along the river or the Kariba Dam on it attracts visitors in plenty. It hosts some of the best adventure sports in Zambia too.
  3. Victoria Falls: This particular waterfall needs no introduction to people who love to travel. As the waterfall comes down, columns of water spray, taking you to a mystic paradise. Climate: In spite of the tropical latitudinal position, Zambia is never too warm. It is cool and dry during from May to September. The months of October and November are hot. The rains from December to April are even more hot and unpleasant.

Currency: The Zambians transact in Zambian Kwacha. Currency is exchanged in major banks and hotels. Most of the bigger shops and hotels accept credit card payments.

Time: Lukasa runs two hours ahead of GMT.

Heath Information: You do not need to produce any certificates of health to get in to the country. It is advisable to carry anti malarial drugs because malaria exists in urban areas too and throughout the year. Cholera threats are also reported in some parts of the country by our vacation package team managers.
