Attractions:
-
Gede Ruins: These are hidden in the forest, a little off the Kenyan beach that our special holiday packages cover. The ruins comprise of houses, a regal Saahii palace, ornate tombs and mosques and are considered to be very mysterious because historical texts have no records of the Gede Ruins. The excavations show a good deal of trade link of the habitants with the outside world.
-
Lake Magadi: This is one of the most virgin spots in Kenya. The lake has huge mineral deposits and is almost covered by soda encrustation. This makes the surface look somewhat lunar and is home to many species of birds. Further south there are some hot springs and it is indeed interesting to note the number of fishes that have adapted to survive in the hot water.
-
Mount Kenya: The second highest peak in Kenya, Mt Kenya is located 180 kms north of Nairobi in the Mount Kenya National Park. Baitian, Lenana and Nelion- the most famous peaks of the range are often trekked by tourists on our travel packages. The landscapes viewed while trekking are awesome. You could also see elephants, monkeys, antelopes, buffaloes and giant forest hogs to name a few.
Climate: Tropical climate is prevalent in the coastal areas though they are visited by monsoon winds. The lower lands are hot and dry while higher altitudes are more comfortable and have four seasons. Nairobi is pleasant throughout the year due to its altitude. Temperatures and rainfall are both high around Lake Victoria.
Most suitable time for visiting: We sell maximum vacation packages during the main tourist season in January and February. You could also visit during June to September when the weather is still dry. From March to May and to some extent from October to December, there are rainfalls. You could target these times too because the prices are low and the rains don’t get in the way of your schedule.
Landing and taking off: Most of the international flights connect to Nairobi and Mombasa. There are also domestic flights connecting these two cities to loads of others like Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar. The flight particulars are a headache of our inclusive holiday package team so that you can enjoy to your best.
Internal Transportation: Kenya Airways is the most important carrier for both national and international flights. Besides, there are also a number of other international air carriers catering to the service.
Communication: 254 is the country code while the international code is 00.
Currency: The popular currency used in the country is the Kenya Shilling (KSh).
Time: Kenya runs 3 hours ahead of GMT.
Heath Information: Vaccination from Yellow Fever is required if you are coming from a country which still has cases of Yellow Fever. Anti malarial drugs are to be taken regularly till four weeks of you having left the country. Carry basic health amenities and make sure you have health insurance because the sub-urban places have only basic first aid. However, big cities have well developed health facilities.
