EGYPT TRAVEL TIPS

Egypt has been on the world map as a country of awe from the very ancient times mostly because of the gigantic pyramids and the history of the Pharaohs. But what very few people know is Egypt is a lot more than just pyramids. The sun bathed beaches and the diving spots in Egypt are heavenly spots for any tourist of any age on their ideal holiday package.

Attractions:

  1. Ancient Egypt: Ancient Egypt with the names of Cleopatra, Tutankhamen, Nefertiti and Ramses come up to the world as a mystic glory that even enchanted the likes of Julius Caesar. Perhaps the most enigmatic of the huge structures in Egypt are the pyramids and the sphinxes and the collosi. In fact, the curse on Tutankhamen’s tomb is one of the most interesting and mysterious findings till date. Besides are the huge temples mostly dedicated to the Sun God, Ra, from the Pharaohic times. The museums such as the one in Cairo have jewelery and artifacts from the Pharaonic treasure boxes.
  2. Nile Cruises: Cruising and sailing along the River Nile is one of the most psychedelic experiences you can have on any travel package. The glide on the river is not only a way to romance nature but also an alluring way to get close to the cultural landmarks of Egypt.
  3. Beaches and Diving: The Mediterranean beaches of Egypt mix from the pristine beach of Agami to the King’s Ranch and the Alexandrian hoi palloi. The colorful corals of the Red Sea have also attracted diving and snorkeling around it. Dahab, Sharm el Sheikh, Taba and Nuweiba are the diver’s paradise. Marsa Alam and the Deep Southern beaches also have some of the world’s finest diving spots.

Climate: The summers are hot and dry while the winters are mild and dry with cold nights. There is a negligible amount of rain though you might be drenched at times on the coast. The dusty and hot Khamsin winds blow from the Saharan deserts during April.

Most suitable time for visiting: If you want to avoid the scorching summers, you should visit Egypt during the winters. Our vacation packages are however available through the seasons.

Landing and taking off: International airline services connect you to Cairo. The inclusive vacation packages take care of the formalities and flight details.

Internal Transportation: The main cities like Alexandria, Cairo, Aswan, Luxor, Sinai, Hurghada and the New Valley are interconnected by domestic flights. The Rail services from Cairo to Aswan in the south and the Alexandria in the north are also at your disposal. One of the cheapest ways is to share taxies with other customers if you want to opt for a cheap vacation package.

Communication: IDD is available to its fullest. The code for Egypt is 20 while all outgoing calls are prefixed by 00.

Currency: The Egyptian Pound (E£) is the locally accepted currency. You can exchange your currency at most of the banks. The international Visa, Diners Club, MasterCard and American Express are generally accepted.

Time: Egypt is 2 hours ahead of GMT from September to April and 3 hours ahead during May to September.

Heath Information: You would be required to produce an International Certificate of Vaccination from Yellow Fever on entering the country. Some of the rural areas near Nile in the Upper Egypt have threats from Malaria but Travelers on the Nile Cruise need not worry.
